Ten of the group undertook the King Island Walk and/or Lunch at Wellington Point that Barry organised on Thursday 22nd May 2025.
On arrival at Wellington Point, King Island could be seen in the distance from the parkland area.
Five Companions, with four legged friend Amica, undertook the walk along the sandbank to the Island. Barry reported that at the top end of the island the sand was slushy and covered with sea grass.
Clear views of the mainland towards the Port of Brisbane were available there, as well closer views of passing sailing boats and Moreton Bay navigational infrastructure.
At the south end the Island had areas of vegetation to explore before heading back to lunch with the rest of the group at Citron Bayside.
All reports indicate that it was a great activity with lots of enjoyment all round.
Amica, shown below, seems to share that sentiment too!
Thanks Barry for all the planning and co-ordinating for this wonderful Carmel Companions Event.
